Real Music

Country man, country man, he moves to the city
Looking for a change of scenery
It's late at night, he's tucked in tight, somethings not right
What's he hearing from the street?
Moving feet, a big back beat, people having good times
Not what he had in mind
Sound the alarm, call the policeman, policeman
Shut them down, it's the only way
No live music, that dog has had its day
What are we gunna do when we can't go and hear real music
What are we gunna do when we can't see a band
Coz all the venues in town have been shut down
Everybody's tuned to the DJ sound
What are we gunna do when we can't go and hear real music
Hey Hey Hey oh
Hey Hey Hey oh
Hey Hey Hey oh
Hey Hey Hey ohhhhh
Music man, music man, he moves to the city
He's drawn in by the bright lights of the scene
It's late at night, well past midnight, somethings not right
It's not what it used to be
But still he need to eat and so he plays all week
To people having good times
It's all he ever had in mind
Sound the alarm, call the policeman, policeman
Shut them down, it's the only way
No live music, that dog has had its day
What are we gunna do when we can't go and hear real music
What are we gunna do when we can't see a band
Coz all the venues in town have been shut down
Everybody's tuned to the DJ sound
What are we gunna do when we can't go and hear real music
Hey Hey Hey oh
Hey Hey Hey oh
Hey Hey Hey oh
Hey Hey Hey ohhhhh
We'll be out on the streets
Playing for keeps
Singing for our supper
Busking for a dollar
Out on the streets
Playing for keeps
Singing for our supper
Busking for a dollar
Out on the streets
Playing for keeps
Singing for our supper
Busking for a dollar
Out on the streets
Playing for keeps
Singing for our supper
Busking for a dollar

Demons

Sorry's not a word you'll often hear me say
Well I never felt until that fateful day
Knowing I'll never get a chance to have my say
It's important to remind myself
Why I feel this way
Well I believe there's such a thing as caring to much
Well I am guilty as charged grab the keys and lock me up
And your oblivious to all of this pain that you cause
Well I wish that I had a conscience like yours
Coz I toss and turn all night when I'm laying in my bed
It's demons that you made for me that are ruining my head
And now I'm writing me a song to wash away the pain
No matter what I do the memory won't fade
You tried to deflate me, rid me of my soul
You sucked out every ounce of breath to take a stranglehold
You tried to rid me of the people I adore
Oh well I'm here to tell you now I won't let you win no more
Sorry's not a word you'll often hear me say
Well I never felt until that fateful day
Knowing I'll never get a chance to have my say
Well it's important to remind myself
Important to remind myself
Why I feel this way

You don't have to say a word when you look at me with those eyes
I no exactly what's on your mind
I have been through four states today
I've felt sad, mad and happy but now your driving me crazy
Oh crazy
So get back girl oh get back
Coz your the number one contender to be my lady
And when I wake up in the morning I ain't ever coming back
No No No No
I am the original road warrior
I no what is bothering ya
Sometimes life brings inconvenient feelings
There's one thing to do with them you've just got to
Bottle it up
Oh bottle it up
So get back girl oh get back
Coz your the number one contender to be my lady
And when I wake up in the morning I ain't ever coming back
No No No No
I ain't ever coming, I ain't ever coming, I ain't ever coming back
Get Back
Oh get Back
Coz your the number one contender to be my lady
And when I wake up in the morning I ain't ever coming back
No No No No

Why do we wait for time?
Why do we wait for time?
When time don't wait for you
When time don't wait for you
One thing that your guaranteed is one day your gunna leave
One thing that your guaranteed is one day your gunna leave
That's not dark that is just reality
That's not dark that is just reality
Sometimes life will throw you curveballs
It's how you hit them that defines you
Sometimes you gotta choose, sometimes your gunna lose,
Sometimes luck's a fortune
But remember that luck it favours the brave
Well at least that is what they say
So tap your feet to a different beat
Just don't take your place in the backseat
Oh take a chance, follow your dreams
Don't be afraid of who you wanna be
Even if it feels like your going the wrong way
Down a one way street
Why do we wait for time?
Why do we wait for time?
When time don't wait for you
When time won't wait for you
No time won't wait for you

Fairsea

Well Bill went to town in his Sunday best and that’s where he saw her
It didn’t take him long to ask for the hand of young Theodora
They rode their bikes to St. Peter’s Church on their wedding day
The guests were waiting at the ceremony, it started with a delay
Coz Bill lived far from town, and someone had to milk the cows
Well farming was all a young Bill knew the youngest of 15
A bond he shared with his brother Grard would last a lifetime it seems
But when talk started up about a boat called the Fairsea that sailed to foreign shores
Grard asked Bill “Do you have my back? Coz I’ve got yours”
3 weeks later it was planned, waving goodbye the the Netherlands
They were sailing on the Fairsea
Sailing to a new country
Sailing on the Fairsea
Sailing in 1953
4 weeks on a boat with nothing but a ray of hope
When they docked in Melbourne town they were on their own
Pyramid Hill in Victoria would be their new home
Dora and the children crying all the way
And Bill just sat there speechless from the news he got that day
His brothers family sent to Queensland, it’s not what they planned
When sailing on the Fairsea
Sailing to a new country
Sailing on the Fairsea
Sailing in 1953
4 weeks on a boat with nothing but a ray of hope
“Why did you come to Australia”? A young boy cries
As a mother sits and try to hide the tears that well in her eyes
“You shouldn’t have done this. I don’t like it here. As soon as you’re dead I’m going back to Holland to play with my friends”
A mother thinking “what have we done”? tough words to hear from your eldest son
As time went by the family moved around from town to town
Living off the land was the only choice when the wage was 8 to 10 pounds
But then late one night there came a knock at the door and when Bill looked out he couldn’t believe what he saw
His brother standing on the step
He’d tracked them down in Bunyip
And that night they laughed and cried
Remembering the time
They were sailing on the Fairsea
Sailing to a new country
Sailing on the Fairsea
Sailing in 1953
4 weeks on a boat with nothing but a ray of hope

Pennies

Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
But I ain't got to much money from the songs that I sing
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
Well I've got me more jobs than I've ever had before
Well I've got me more jobs than I've ever had before
And I'm hoping now that you see me less you don't run on out the door
Well I've got me more jobs than I've ever had before
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
But I ain't got to much money from the songs that I sing
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
Well I been keeping all my loose change from the corner shop
Well I been keeping all my loose change from the corner shop
And it's building in my coin jar it's nearly reached the top
Well I been keeping all my loose change from the corner shop
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
But I ain't got to much money from the songs that I sing
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
Well I took myself down to the jewellery store
Well I took myself down to the jewellery store
And I'm praying and praying you don't look in my old sock draw
Well I took myself down to the jewellery store
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
Well I'm saving my pennies to buy you a ring
But I ain't got to much money from the songs that I sing
Well I'm saving my pennies and I bought you a diamond ring

Tick Tick

A moment in time we just about let slip by
We'd been flirting with this idea for so long
I don't no if it was yours or mine
True friends are hard to find but even more
A girl like you is a pearl in the ocean that this diver can't ignore
You've been in my heart for so long now it seems
But it feels like only yesterday when you walked into my dreams
Just when I think I couldn't love you anymore
Another second it goes by tick tick my oh my
Only a fool predicts the weather we'll be happy just as long as we're together
Tick Tick my oh my
You don't no until the anchors dry so we thought we'd give it a try
There was always something about us two that kept that flame alive
Now who would have thought you'd call me yours and me call you mine
But now that flame is a wildfire in my heart that's burning bright
Just when I think I couldn't love you anymore
Another second it goes by tick tick my oh my
Only a fool predicts the weather we'll be happy just as long as we're together
Tick Tick my oh my
Yeeaahhh
Just when I think I couldn't love you anymore
Another second it goes by tick tick my oh my
Only a fool predicts the weather we'll be happy just as long as we're together
Tick Tick my oh my yeah
A moment in time we just about let slip by
We'd been flirting with this idea for so long
I don't no if it was yours or mine
